Student Covid-19 Case

December 14, 2020

Dear Centennial School Families,

This is to inform you that we have a positive COVID-19 case in our school with a student in the
Grade 6 classroom.

We communicated with the affected students and staff members who were in close contact with
the student during the previous week. Those impacted individuals will be quarantined for 14
days and will return to Centennial School after the Christmas Break on January 11, 2021. They
have been advised to be tested for COVID-19. We hope for a speedy recovery of the affected
student and feel for all students and families who are impacted by this development.

It is critical that we are monitoring ourselves each day for symptoms and that we are completing
the Alberta Health Daily Checklist. As a reminder, do not attend school if you are symptomatic.

If you or a member of your family has any of the symptoms, please complete the online Alberta
Health Services COVID-19 self-assessment or call Health Link at 811 and stay home.

We will continue to follow the guidelines put forth by Alberta Education and by Alberta Health
Services to keep our school safe with strict adherence to our cohorting measures, cleaning
protocols, hand hygiene, masking, and social distancing measures. We know that this news can
be distressing and supports for families are available. You are encouraged to visit our mental
health supports.

The Health and Safety of our students and staff is our first priority. Please contact the school if
you have any questions and we will be happy to help in any way that we can.

Sincerely,

David Luck
Principal
